We have supended the cereal for a few days, because I think it's just added stress for her...we'll try again in a week or so. In the meantime, everybody keep your fingers crossed that she'll be back to normal smiley Johanna soon!

Cereal...

We'll see how today goes...
In the meantime I am busily making and freezing baby food. I made some apples, sweet potatoes and broccoli so far. I am excited to go to the farmers market this weekend to see what other goodies I can find. I want to make some peas but I don't think they are in season, I might have to revert to frozen for the time beeing...I would love for Johanna to develop a taste for healthy food early so she'll like those things later on. So once she eats the cereal OK and learns to swallow it properly we can start feeding her fruits and veggies. I can't even imagine the messes...

Bookworm...
I think Johanna is going to love books. She already shows a lot of interest. She seems to really like it when we read to her, as long as the book is not too long. She looks at every page attentively and seems to really listen. Then she usually grabs the book and tries to eat it, but come on, she is only 5 moths old :). Sometimes she even turns the page herself it's so cute. In this picture she seemed to be actually reading her book, it was so adorable!

Sleepy Time
For the second day in a row now Johanna has gone to sleep on her own! We are so proud, she really is a good baby. I just put some lullaby music on, turn on her nightlight and put her in her crib. She just hung out for while talking to herself and then eventually fell asleep. No crying at all!
She is changing so fast I can't believe it. I think she is pretty close to sitting up on her own; she tries all the time. She must have abs of steel by now. Can't really tell since her muscles are covered in a pleasantly plump layer of baby-fat :). She also like the excer-saucer at my mom's house. I think she will be a pretty active child, she doesn't really seem to care for laying back and relaxing.
