Emery Pearl is here!

On March 5th at 8:19 am we welcomed our second Princess to the world. Emery weighed 6 lbs 14 oz and was 19 inches long. Besides being three weeks early everything went smoothly and actually really fast. I started having contractions at 1:30 am. At first they were pretty far apart but once they got to be 7 minutes apart we called the DR since we live 40 minutes away. On the way to the hospital the contractions got really intense and painful and much closer together. I think Dustin was a little scared that I might give birth in the car :) We got to the hospital with Johanna in tow (Mom and dad picked her a little later) at about 5:30 am. My initial examination showed that I was already 7 cm dilated! Within an hour I was fully dilated but Emery still needed to come down a bit so I didn't start pushing until a little after 8 am. I punched for a whole 5 minutes and our baby girl was here!

36 Weeks Today

.
I haven't posted in so long mainly because there was nothing really to report. I am 36 weeks today and still doing well. (Besides the regular late-pregnancy discomforts) I had my check up yesterday and I am almost 3 cm dilated already. I hope that will make for a relatively quick birth like I had with Johanna. Now all we do is wait for baby-girl to arrive!

3-D Sonogram, 29 weeks 3 days

Since I didn't have time to keep a scrap book with ths pregnancy, I wanted to do something else special. I decided to get a 3D-4D sonogram done, and I am so glad we did. We got some amazing shots of our baby-girl!

Yawn!

Happy Birthday in Heaven

Happy Birthday Baby Keller, we will miss you always. Thank You for looking out for your sisters.

Keller Joe Smith , January 13 2009, 7:59 am

Keller:

Irish: Anglicized form of Gaelic Ó Céileachair ‘son of Céileachar ’, a personal name meaning ‘companion-dear’, i.e. ‘lover of company’

We chose the name from a source that had 'small companion' as the meaning.

He will be with us always.
